(A Biblical
Perspective by Al Thomas)
As I was praying the other day, I was moved to earnestly
intercede for the Church when I saw in the Spirit a new breed of believers
coming forth. They
seemed to burst forth out of thin air. They consisted of unknowns,
everyday simple working folks, people who shunned the spotlight and couldn’t
care less if they ever stood behind a pulpit. They suddenly got up
and shouted “I come forth to do your will, mighty God!” God
was saying to some, ‘Yes, you, come out now, the time is ready,
I desire to demonstrate my cloning efforts.’ The world is breeding
and cloning everything today; sheep, horses, flowers, you name it. God
showed me in these last days He is also breeding. This new class
of believers will move mountains, heal the sick, abhor foolishness and
best of all follow and obey Christ to the death. They will carry
a banner that reads “Glorify Jesus now!” This new breed
of believer:
1. KNOWS THE VALUE OF SEEING HIMSELF AS GOD DOES
You know the song ‘White as Snow, white as snow, though your
sins be as scarlet... ‘ Don’t just quickly read
over this basic truth like you’ve got it down…many don’t. They
know it mentally but don’t walk in it from the heart. Many
(even ministers of the Gospel) walk around with guilt and shame, feeling
unworthy. I don’t judge anyone. When one knows there is nothing
between them and their God there is an amazing liberty and freedom
which brings joy. They know they are free from all guilt, shame. This
is so basic, yet so many miss it. These people know their sins
are pardoned (ISA. 55:7), covered (PS. 32:1), blotted out(ISA. 43:25),remitted(MATT.
26:28),taken away(COL. 2:14),put away(HEB.9:26),removed as far as the
east is from the west(PSALM 103:12)and cast into the sea(MICAH7:19). Here
is the scholarly interpretation: “They ain’t there no
more.” God can’t make it any clearer…yet, I see
the devil pounding on God’s people with guilt. Do whatever
it takes (memorize the appropriate scriptures, rebuke doubt, pray it through,
shout it out, slap yourself in the face - my God man, do something…)
but make sure you don’t sit in the muck and mire of bondage and
see yourself from the devil’s perspective rather than God’s. This
new breed is so assured of God’s approval that nothing is impossible
for them (LUKE1:37). And they know it.
2. KNOWS THE VALUE OF TRANSPARENCY
In the earthly ministry of Jesus, one of the things that stand’s
out is His sense of realness. He renounced superficiality in Himself
and demanded the same in His followers. The meaning of the word ‘real’ is
not what you might think. Yes, it means ‘actual or true, not
imagined’ it also means ‘relating to or consisting of a permanent
or immoveable thing.’ When you are real, you are immoveable
and steadfast (1 COR.15:58). There is no phoniness or hypocrisy. This
also adds to your ‘freedom’, and boy do you sleep well! You
don’t have to pretend anymore. When you ‘blow it’ you
quickly admit it, and get back to the business of the Kingdom. You
are not one thing to this person and another to some one else. You
are not concerned about impressing people, nor do you care what they may
think about you. You are not rude, indifferent or uncompassionate;
but you will not compromise your integrity. These people have escaped
the vicious cycle of the fake and the counterfeit…which comes from
fear or intimidation. They are walking in His power (2 TIM. 1:7),grounded
in His love, firmly resisting all sin and hating ‘show business
Christianity’.
3. KNOWS THE VALUE OF CONSTANTLY GLORIFYNG JESUS
This takes discipline (in the beginning). I say ‘in the beginning’ because
this glory life style will actually turn into a glory road. It will
take you places. All other roads lead to bondage because they are
roads of self. No matter what comes their way…these people
begin to look up and glorify Jesus. They are so convinced (read faith)
that if they are obedient, remain humble and keep pressing on, nothing
in heaven, on earth or under the earth will keep them from accomplishing
God’s will. This is what they live for; to glorify Jesus by
accomplishing His will. Look at the gospels. After every healing,
deliverance and miracle the people glorified God. This new breed
of believer is fanatical about giving God glory…and go ballistic
when they see anyone take the slightest credit for what God has done. From
the shepherds in the field (LUKE2:20)to the healing of blind eyes(LUKE18:43)to
just hearing about the works of God the people glorified Jesus. Amazingly
this new breed will sometimes appear to be brash, crude and even intolerant
to ‘normal’ Christians. This is the way Jesus was to
the flippant follower. These people will simply demonstrate how far
and wide spread luke-warmness is in the church. Yet, they do not judge
but demonstrate the power of a committed life. Some of this new breed
will be rejected and branded as ‘off the wall’ or ‘unbalanced’ yet
they will carry the favor of God (LUKE 1:30) and their
works will be powerful. They will not have excuses for a lack of a disciplined
prayer life…they will be too busy praying...then bearing fruit that
will glorify their Father(JOHN 15:5 & 8).
I also sensed that some would be intimated and afraid that they
might not measure up for the task of being a ‘new breed.’ Then,
I heard God shout loudly: “I am calling the ones who are not expecting
to qualify. ” Maybe that’s
you?
