A Prophetic Word by Al Thomas
I
saw a vision of a tall woman (I knew it was the church). She
was dressed in white and from adistance she was beautiful. I
came closer and I saw her face. It was swollen and puffed up. She
had warts on her nose. Yet, she had this gaze in her eyes and
this look on her face that said, “I am beautiful…look
at me.” Then
I heard the Holy Spirit say: “Tell the Church: ‘STAY
HUMBLE. REMAIN SMALL IN YOUR OWN EYES. IF YOU DO NOT
MY POWER WILL BE ILLUSIVE. BUT IF YOU DO I WILL USE YOU TO
ASTONISH THE WORLD AND TO DEMONSTRATE HERETOFORE UNSEEN
MIRACLES. AND YOU WILL SEE THE FULFILLMENT
OF A GREAT HARVEST OF SOULS.” I've taught
about pride for years; this time the Holy Spirit POINTED
TO THE SCRIPTURES:
HE SAID ”PRIDE IS PROPHETIC” “Pride goeth
before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov.
16:18). It’s an unbreakable principle that if you stay in
the prideful mode you will eventually fall. It is the beginning of
all sin. Amazingly, I have seen people prideful while prophesizing
and moving in the power gifts.
HE SAID “PRIDE HINDERS HIS TRUE POWER” “Having
a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” (2
Tim. 3:5) Anyone can go through the motions of spirituality. Anyone
can put on a show of spiritual gifting. You can prophesize all you
want, move in any gifting, but if you do not have humility ‘you
are not pleasing Me,’ the Spirit said.
HE SAID “PRIDE DECEIVES MANY” Obadiah
3 says, “The
pride of thine heart hath deceived thee…” Pride deceives
because one who is walking in pride often doesn't even know it. Pride
puts you under a spell. It lies to you. The Spirit said, ‘Walk
in truth…only the humble can walk as the Master.’
HE SAID “PRIDE FORCES HIM TO RESIST MANY” James 4:6
says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth
the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Do you want God
to resist you? The Holy Spirit said, “Pride is the most effective
way Satan gets people to turn from Me, because they actually think ‘I
can do this on my own’.”
NEXT, I SAW A VISION OF A PERSON WITH PRIDE. I couldn't see
the face. This
person had a critical spirit (1 Cor.10:10) and murmured when
things didn't go as they planned. This person talked about others
in a negative way. (Nothing
stops a conversation quicker than the arrival of the person
you happen to be talking about). This person was blind to the sufferings
of others
and was envious and jealous of people more successful than
themselves (Matt. 27:18 & Acts13:45). This person had a
general ‘know-it-all-ism’ attitude. This
person had a hard time admitting weaknesses or saying, ‘I'm
sorry.’ As
He showed me this I felt sick in my spirit…I thought, “God,
what’s the good news?” Suddenly I was lifted up into the
heavens and saw a huge Bible, big as the horizon. Its pages flew
open. As
His finger pointed at various scriptures…
All
of Heaven seemed to shout the blessings of humility:
“HE HUMBLE
HEAR CAN HEAR MY VOICE” I
then saw written in the sky: Psalm10:17, “ LORD, thou hast heard
the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause
thine
ear to hear:”
“THE HUMBLE RECEIVE
MY GUIDANCE AND REMAIN TEACHABLE” Again,
in the sky I saw, Psalm 25:9, “The meek will he guide in judgment:
and the meek will he teach his way.”
“I RESPECT THE HUMBLE” Again, in the sky, I saw, “Though
the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly:
but the proud he knoweth afar off. (Ps. 138:6)
“I GIVE MORE GRACE
TO THE HUMBLE” James 4:6
like a glowing neon sign said, “God resisteth the proud, but giveth
grace unto the humble.”
“THE HUMBLE ARE EXALTED” 1 Peter 5:
6, shouted out: “Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that
he may exalt you in due time”
“THE HUMBLE RECEIVE
MY WISDOM” Proverbs 11:2
says, “When
pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.” This
also I saw written in the heavens.
I breathed a sigh of relief and then saw emblazoned in
the heavens Isaiah 66: 1-2
“Heaven
is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house
you will build for me? Where
will my resting place be? Has not my hand made
all these things, and so they came into being?”
declares the LORD. “This is the one I esteem: he who
is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.”
Then I saw great victories being won by the Church. I saw many people
repenting; even well known ministers of the gospel. Even the world
took notice of the change in the Church. I saw a Church small in
its own estimation, but large in faith. Weak in the flesh, but powerful
in the Spirit. Then I saw God smile. No one smiles like
God.
